Prepreg from DELTA-preg – High-Performance Composite Systems

DELTA-preg develops and manufactures prepreg systems designed for demanding composite applications. The systems are divided into four main groups based on curing temperature , which directly determines the final component’s service temperature and glass transition temperature (Tg) .

Four Categories of Prepreg

  1. High Temperature (150 °C)
For components requiring extreme heat resistance and high Tg. Available in both epoxy and cyanate ester resin systems.

  2. Medium Temperature (120 °C)
The largest and most widely used group of prepregs, ideal for industrial applications requiring balanced performance.

  3. Low Temperature (25–45 °C)
Can be cured at very low temperatures. Post-curing is required to increase service temperature and improve Tg.

  4. Variable Temperature (65–80 °C)
Flexible system allowing low-temperature curing in the mold. With post-curing (80–150 °C) , Tg can be raised to approx. 120–150 °C , even when tooling cannot withstand high curing temperatures.

Fiber Options

DELTA-preg prepregs can be combined with a wide variety of fibers:

  • Carbon Fiber

    • HS (High Strength) < 260 GPa

    • IM (Intermediate Modulus) 260–320 GPa

    • HM (High Modulus) 320–600 GPa

    • UHM (Ultra High Modulus) > 600 GPa

  • Glass Fiber : E-glass, black E-glass, S2-glass

  • Organic Fibers : Aramid, Dyneema, Zylon

  • Hybrids : Carbon-Aramid (tiger fabric), Carbon-Glass, Carbon-Dyneema

Availability may vary, and certain combinations may require minimum order quantities.

Prepreg for Tooling

The choice of tooling prepreg depends on both the intended component material and the expected production series. DELTA-preg’s tooling systems can cure at low temperatures (from 45 °C) , minimizing the risk of damage to the plug.

To ensure maximum service temperature resistance and long-term durability, post-curing at higher temperatures is required.

With DELTA-preg prepreg systems you get flexibility, high performance, and tailored solutions for both prototypes and full-scale composite production.
