Graphite and composite applications become ever more and more complex in the same way we have steadily increased our expertise, accumulated experience and grown us strong.
Broad technical expertise backed by years of experience
Svenska Tanso AB has been around since 1981 and is the market leader in the Nordic and Baltic countries and on a good way into new countries.
Today we are about 60 employees at our headquarters and production facility in Jönköping and a an additional sales office in Stockholm.
Our product areas is graphite and technical carbon for electrical, metallurgical, chemical and mechanical applications, natural/synthetic graphite powder, electrode materials, consumables, spare parts and accessories for electro-discharge machining (EDM), carbon fibres and process materials for the composite field and some ores and metals.
We also have a furnace department performing service, maintenance, temperature and furnace optimization of all commercially available vacuum furnaces.

We made an early commitment to achieving quality and environmental certification under ISO 9001 / 14001, becoming the first company in our industry to hold both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
Our graphite is sourced from the Japanese company Toyo Tanso Co., Ltd . Toyo Tanso is a pioneer in the field of synthetic graphite and today the world’s largest producer of isostatic graphite. This gives us access to a reliable supplier of top-quality graphite and enables us to deliver products of the highest standard.
In 2015, Svenska Tanso AB was awarded the DIAMOND DIPLOMA by the credit rating agency Bisnode, after maintaining the highest credit rating, AAA, for more than 20 consecutive years.

2011 Invests in additional land for future expansion
2012 Further expansion; the EDM division moves into new dedicated premises
